Sri Lanka unable to encash its sustainable tourism scopes with tourists

Tourists to Sri Lanka are more often than not targeted on sun, sea, and sand. All of the government’s efforts for growing sustainability are being ignored by using travelers. Tourism consultant Srilal Miththapala stated all the efforts of ecotourism are being overlooked via vacationers. Though resorts keep their non-public beaches and there is lots of labor in developing eco-tourism, human beings get maximum attracted to the obvious sights in Sri Lanka. Accommodations within the seaside regions are most in call for. Searching for a fashion, almost 9,000 lodge rooms exist already in the coastal areas, and a growth of 12,600 is expected using 2018.

Miththapala is wary of whether Sri Lanka may be able to maintain its tourist arrival goals through 2020. He feels that although the country tourism has outstanding plans, there are troubles in implementation. Consequently, there needs to be participation from the non-public zone via which appealing tourism possibilities may be more desirable.

“I suppose there are a variety of possibilities for investors. We want to set up a database of the informal sector to file what goes on with the turtle hatcheries, kite browsing, whale looking, and water sports,” Miththapala stated. Social media and online bookings are bringing in more vacationers to Arugam Bay and Kalipinya.
